My Little Bubba

My dear little bubba.....

You are 20 months old today! How can it be that we are only 4 short months away from 2 years? Your joy and happiness are such a blessing to our house, I can't imagine us without you running around. And you do run around this house, chasing balls, cats, and your sister. You are CRAZY about balls! You can spot them in any book, and you are getting good at kicking and throwing them. You love the baby kitties too, and have just figured out how fun it is to pick them up and cuddle them:). You adore your big sister and love to bug and pester her. Whatever she is doing, you have to join her. She's not always happy about that, and you haven't figured out that she sometimes needs her space, but you'll understand one day.

You are also CRAZY about your daddy! You love to spend time reading, playing, and just generally following him around. When daddy comes in the door, you drop whatever you are doing and yell "dada" and run to him! He loves your excitement, too!

You have 12 teeth and 2 just popped through. You have the most beautiful smile! The dentist said all your teeth are placed just right and are very healthy.

You wear size 5 diapers and size 2T for the most part. I still haven't bought "real" shoes for you. You love to go barefoot or "Robeez".

You can't stand having your diaper changed and this is a daily struggle. You are best distracted with a book or your sister playing peek-a-boo. You also love to play peek-a-boo yourself, with anyone and anything.

You are still quite the eater! You eat enough for both you and sissy. Even after a bowl of oatmeal, you insist on eating Daddy's oatmeal with him. You love to feed yourself with a spoon and you drink with a sippy cup. You're a huge fan of milk and cheese. And strawberries. And bananas. And...well, you get the picture!

You used to be on a very regular bedtime of 7pm, but that all changed a couple of months ago. If you take a big nap late into the afternoon, you aren't ready for bed till 9 or 10. This makes Mommy and Daddy very tired. Just FYI. But once you've decided you're tired, you go right to bed like a champ! If you aren't sick or teething, you usually wake up between 6:30-8am. Every day is different. You usually eat a big lunch and go down for nap around 12pm.

Your words include: ball, cat, book, okay, again, "i want that", bye, hi, mmmmm(more), broken. You are really trying to talk to us and communicate what you think, but sometimes I have a hard time figuring the words out. You help us by pointing and showing what you are talking about. Your latest word is "broken". If something is turned off, or closed, or just plain isn't doing what you think it should be doing, you think it's broken. It's very adorable to hear you say this:).

You also love to dance and have been sporting some awesome moves lately! You like to rock side to side or stomp one foot up and down. You can manuever the deck stairs with ease, but I still keep the inside stairs closed off. They are too steep for you yet. Sometimes you go to the very edge of the deck stairs, though, and look like you are contemplating just stepping down. This makes mommy freak out. But for the most part, you turn around long before the stairs arrive and scoot down on your belly. You love to slide down your little slide in the backyard and swing with sissy. You don't mind getting dirty and wet outside.

You are a joy and so much fun to watch grow up, my little dear! I love your little expressions and your chubby finger pointing out all you see in your little world. We Love You Bubba! Daddy, Mommy and Sissy!
