This year's trip was extra special for us. My dear grandmother turned 90 in July, and for her birthday, she treated US to 3 nights at the Ocean Crest Resort for all her family. This included her three children (so my family and my two aunts/uncles), as well as her sister and her sister's children. It was just the right amount of family to be fun and not too overwhelming. We had plenty of things to do with others, or we could just make our own plans. Each day was up to us. Each evening, we met for dinner, and then played games and had dessert. I've posted a couple pictures from one of our game nights.
Our little apartment was just perfect for our little family. We had two full bedrooms, and full bathroom, living room, kitchen and a balcony that looked over the ocean. What a perfect spot to drink my coffee in the morning! This picture is taken from our balcony. I just loved having the windows open and listening to the waves crash.

The cousins got to playing Legos right away with each other. Our apartment was right next door to my sister's, so they ran back and forth a lot, it was so much fun for them!

I love the patterns the water makes in the sand. If you look closely, the patterns on the beach are very geometrical. Everything in this world has an order or pattern to it, and it all points to the Creator, our Lord. I love finding glimpses of His handiwork...

In this game, the last person in the line taps the shoulder of the next person, and they have to act out what was on a cue card. No words. Here E is acting out starting a motorcycle. Once he acts it out, the next person taps the next one in line and so it goes. It's like telephone, but with acting. And it's HILARIOUS what it comes out at the end of the line!! We were rolling in laughter!

One wonderful blessing during the vacation was that our kids were worn out!! It took them a little while to calm down after games, but once they were in bed, they were out! Miss M brought all her special friends and curled up each night with them. She laid down like this one night, and didn't move a muscle! They slept so good!

I took this from our balcony the morning we left. The ocean is such a calm, peaceful, rejuvinating experience. As I stood in front of the vast ocean, I marveled at how mind boggling huge our earth is. That the ocean I am standing in front of reaches all the way around the other side of the earth, and it takes a very very long plane ride to cross it.
The constant crash of waves on the beach, day and night, remind me of how faithful and dependable our Lord is. He never falters, never sleeps. The rhythm of the ocean points to Him. Never does a day go by that the waves take a day off. He orchestrates His creation. If you sit and look and listen, it all points to HIM.
How thankful I am for a wonderful time of precious family memories!
