Patterns

For quite awhile, our Mister K has been aware, amazed, and obsessed with patterns. From an early age, he would notice one piece missing in a group of objects. He would sit in my lap at bedtime and trace the lines of the ceiling. He loves to count. Everything. And if he skips a number, we start over at 1. If a toy has multiple colored parts, the parts have to be grouped together by color. He loves to count the stairs while going up and down.

We're not quite sure what to think of all these patterns and behaviors. What we do know is that he is acutely aware of everything around him.
