A tribute to all our farming friends:
You know it's corn season when...
(1) Seeing your husband at 8 pm is a shock and delight!
(2) Progress is measured in acres finished and the number of breakdowns
(3) You know the weather forecast for the next month so well you should work for Al Roker
(4) You can drive your SUV like nobody's business into any given field just to deliver dinner
(5) The sweet and ripe smell of corn juice permeates certain areas of the farm
(6) That same corn smell permeates your husband's clothes, which are not allowed any further than the garage steps
(7) Sundays are a day you look forward to all week because you'll actually get to eat dinner together
(8) You are on a first name basis with all the part dealers in town
(9) Your heart skips a beat at seeing the chopper drive by! (isn't it a beautiful machine)
(10) and finally: October stretches on and on and you're never more happy to see November roll around on the calendar, rain and wind and all.
I hope all our farming friends are/had a great corn season! Thank the Lord for giving us such bounty and the opportunity to do such an amazing job: farming! (If you're not a farmer, thank one today:)

So did you learn all about this "on the job" or were you prepared ahead of time?
I love it! very accurate!
melinda - it's taken 6 years to learn this much! the first few years were really tough adjusting to this new way of life
Funny! Jason says to tell you "thank you" for your heart skipping a beat every time you see him drive by, and he's wondering where the SUV delivered lunches have been? heehee! :)
Ha ha ha ha...love this Teresa...wow, how familiar it sounds! lol
Thanks for the laugh!
